About the Competition
As part of promoting knowledge and thought in the field of social work in the State of Qatar, and in support of the mission of the Orphans Care Center (Dreama) to provide the highest level of service to its target groups and the community, the center’s management has decided to collaborate with academics, graduates, and students in the fields of sociology and social work in Qatar. This initiative aims to enhance and develop their capabilities in social work, and to explore insights and knowledge related to the center’s vision, its services, and ways to improve and strengthen them through scientific research and by encouraging innovation in proposed studies and new solutions addressing the challenges faced by children of unknown parentage.
Competition Objectives
- Enhance research and innovation activities among participants.
- Identify and support young scientific talents capable of providing practical and effective solutions.
- Connect Dreema Center with the academic community and encourage collaboration with higher education institutions.
- Utilize research findings to develop policies and services for the target groups.

Scientific Research Fields
Psychological approaches related to Dreema Center’s work, its services, and ways to improve them.
Some suggested research topics emerging from this area include:
- Psychological and social attitudes toward reintegration.
- Psychological and social adjustment of individuals benefiting from the center's services.
- The role of the psychological specialist and the challenges in utilizing assessment tools.
Social approaches related to Dreema Center’s target groups, including orphans of unknown parentage and those without family support, and their impact on Qatari society.
Some suggested research topics emerging from this area include:
- Legal protection for Dreema Center’s target groups.
- Social and economic empowerment of orphans of unknown parentage.
- Community awareness of integration and empowerment mechanisms.
- Developmental proposals for government policies related to individuals without family support.
Target Groups
The competition is open to researchers specializing in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, and postgraduate students in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences:
- Academic Category
- Student Category: Includes graduates, postgraduate, and undergraduate students in the fields of Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, and Humanities.
Participation Mechanism
1. Participation can be individual or through a research team of no more than two researchers.
2. Submitted research will be evaluated by a selected academic committee to identify the winning studies.
3. Winning research papers will be discussed by the judging panel.
4. Announcement of the winning research papers.
5. Publishable research will be submitted for publication in specialized scientific journals after evaluation.
Scientific Research Submission Requirements
1. The research must align with the objectives and mission of Dreema Center.
2. It must be original and not previously published or submitted to any other entity or award.
3. It should follow a clear scientific methodology and be properly referenced using APA 7 format.
4.The study must include a theoretical and methodological framework along with a practical field component.
5. It should be written in formal Arabic, with an English abstract not exceeding 250 words.
6. The total word count must be between 8,000 and 12,000 words.
7. Participants must register through online link for the competition and provide the required information.
The researcher must follow the structure below:
1. Introduction
2. General Framework: (Problem + Significance + Objectives)
3. Theoretical Framework: (Concepts – Previous Studies – Guiding Theory/Theories)
4. Methodological Framework: (Methodology – Data Collection Tools – Sample – Analysis Techniques)
5. Results, Discussion, and Recommendations
6. References List
7. Appendices (if any)
8. Use Simplified font, size 14 for the main text and 16 for headings, with clear numbering.
Judging Committee
The judging committee consists of Professors and reviewers for the submitted research papers.
